Luigi's Mansion

Take a step back from the fantastical world of knights, quests, and dragons, and into the weird and wonderful world of spirits with this attraction.

Based on the hit Nintendo franchise whose first installment came in 2001 and second installment came last year in 2013, so with the Disney/Nintendo Merger, we, the Imagineering team at Disney’s Digital Kingdom, have decided to build an attraction

dedicated to everyone’s favorite Player 2: Luigi.

Modeled after the classic Disney attraction The Haunted Mansion, guests step into a Gothic manor and are greeted by, instead of by the Ghost Host, Professor E. Gadd and professional ghost hunter Luigi Mario (that’s the confirmed last name according to the Super Mario Bros movie…)

Professor E. Gadd will explain that your vehicles are hooked up to a large Vacuum: The Poltergust 8000, which is especially equipped to capture ghosts and spirits as well as work as a vehicle. Guests are then told they will be joining Luigi, as Luigi requested help because he is too afraid of ghosts to go alone.

With that, guests board their Poltergust 8000, which has two vacuum heads, one for each rider. The vacuum heads work like the cannons in Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin where guests will pass by animatronics and projections of ghosts, zombies, spirits, and other creepy monsters.

Each “spirit” captured will be assigned a point number, and just like at the end of Buzz Lightyear, and each rider will be assigned a rank based on the points accumulated.

This attraction works as both the "Haunted Mansion” attraction as well as a shooting game attraction, blending perfectly into the Digital Kingdom theming. Check out the attraction coming once Disney’s Digital Kingdom opens in late 2014.
